Since the founding of NEW China 70 years ago, China's sports architecture has undergone tremendous changes, which has played an important role in China's successful bid to host the Olympic Games, Asian Games, Youth Olympic Games, Universiade and other large events. Demonstrated the great achievements of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

It can be said that the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China is also the 70th year of the booming development of sports buildings in New China. At this point in time, it is of great significance to review and sort out the development history and achievements of sports buildings in New China during the 70 years.

   On September 20, 2019, the "China Sports Architecture Innovation and Development Summit Forum" hosted by the sports architecture branch of China Architecture Society of China Sports Science Society, Tongji University, Asia Pacific Construction Technology Information Research Institute Co., Ltd., Architectural Design and Research Institute (Group) Co., Ltd. of Tongji University, and Architectural Technology magazine was successfully held in Tongji University.This summit forum specially invited academicians, masters, famous sports architecture scholars and experts in China to review history and look forward to the future. In view of their achievements, current situation and problems in the development of sports architecture in the past 70 years, they made in-depth discussion. More than 300 scholars, experts and representatives from universities and design enterprises all over the country attended the summit forum.

Opening Ceremony of New Book Launch and Photo Exhibition

   Before the forum started, the first launch of the "New China Sports Building 70 Years" and the photo exhibition opening ceremony were held in the exhibition hall of Tongji Design Group.70 years of new China's sports architecture was edited by the sports architecture branch of the Chinese Academy of Sports Sciences, and 11 units of Beijing Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., China Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Architectural Design and Research Institute of Huajian group Tsinghua University Architectural Design & Research Institute, Tongji University Architectural Design & Research Institute (Group) Co., Ltd., South China University of Technology Architectural Design & Research Institute, Harbin Institute of Technology Architectural Design & Research Institute, China Architecture Southwest Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd. , Guangzhou Architectural Design & Research Institute, CCDI Sidi International participated in the compilation. It comprehensively reviews the achievements of sports architecture in each period from five periods in the development of new China. At present, the book has been officially published by China Construction Industry Press (Tel: 010-58337130).

    The opening ceremony was chaired by ShuoningTang , Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of the Architectural Design and Research Institute (Group) Co., Ltd. of Tongji University. Weiyong Peng , deputy director of the Economic Department of the State Administration of sports, Guangsheng Zhao , deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of sports,Dunshan Wei , academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering, senior chief architect of Shanghai East China Architectural Design (Group) Co., Ltd., and Jian Wang , President of the architectural Design Institute (Group) Co., Ltd. of Tongji University delivered speeches successively. It is agreed that the 70 years since the founding of new China is also the 70 years of vigorous development of sports buildings in New China. At this time point, it is of great significance to review and sort out the development process and achievements of 70 years' sports architecture in New China. They also wish China's sports buildings a better future.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Shuning Tang , Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President and Deputy Chief Architect of Tongji University Architectural Design & Research Institute (Group) Co., Ltd. Cundong Li , secretary-general of the Chinese Architectural Society, Jiaming Cao , chairman of the Shanghai Architectural Society,  Jiang Wu, executive vice president of Tongji University, and Feng Qian , director of the Sports Architecture Branch of the China Institute of Sports Science, delivered speeches.

   Everyone mentioned in the speech that this event demonstrated the achievements of sports construction after the founding of New China by reviewing sports architectures, a distinctive architecture type. Summarizing experience and looking forward to the future, this event is a promotion and promotion of China's sports construction industry, and a special gift to the motherland's 70th birthday.
